For the third consecutive year, in connection with the ongoing Autumn Salon, Fotografiska will award the Young Nordic Photographer of the Year grant of 10,000 euros to a brilliant young photographer from the Nordic countries. The winner will hold a solo exhibition at Fotografiska in summer 2017 and will be appointed a personal mentor for the year. All applications are presented to a renowned jury who unanimously agree on their selection.
Last year, Aapo Huhta, born in 1985 in Haapajärvi, Finland, in stiff competition with many high-quality applications, was the photographer selected by the jury for his graphic cityscapes. The year before that, Johan Strindberg was the winner.
This year it may be you who will receive the grant and hold your own exhibition at Fotografiska.
Footnote: The 2014 winner, Johan Strindberg, and his mentor, artist Helene Billgren, were so satisfied with the interchange that they chose to continue their collaboration. Click here for an interview with them.
